Well, firstly, I am absolutely obsessed with Etsy.com. Everything is homemade and it's just gorgeous. I could just browse forever... *tries to stop drooling*

The good thing is it gives me some great ideas for things to try out! I've got so many ideas for journal covers that I can't wait to try them out. My mom is really into card-making (especially with the Stampin' Up! tools) and I'm getting into it too. I absolutely fell in love with this bird design and got the stamp set that has it. I'd love to have that on a journal. ;) In fact, I've got a thing for birds... it's slightly bizarre but I think they're pretty. (More examples coming.)

I'd also love to do some embroidery things with fabric covers as well as paper. Even something very simple would look lovely, methinks. At least we'll see when my first experiment is done, heehee. &c. )

The problem with my browsing Etsy all the time is that I want to buy everything! And then I get very materialistic. Right now I cannot buy any more — I've spent so much money in the last couple of months, heehee.

But everything is SO PRETTY.

Heart Strings Wool Felt Necklace
- I'd love to try felting little balls like that and make a funky-chunky neckace, and I found instructions here! I won't try the heart shape, but I love the button with it. &c. )

With all my browsing, I have bought one thing!
Newcastle iSockit Deluxe for iPod, iPhone, and BlackBerry by BlytheKing
- I originally found out about this little shop via [info]soteria's own purchase. I enjoyed keeping my eye on what she had, and then I saw this design. I loved the colours and pattern of the fabric, and that crocheted button sold it to me. ;) Ironically I bought it thinking there was only one, but she has another one available now, heehee. But totally worth it!
Now all I need is the iPod skin and the classic iPod... But in the meantime it makes a nice home for my "vintage" pink iPod mini. ;)

P.S. If anyone signs up for an account at etsy, would you mind putting my name in as the referral-ee? My username is "heatherfield." Thanks! </ shameless plugging >

I need to stop buying ridiculously priced fast food.

Within the last three days, I've spent:

$11.25 on 1 regular pop and popcorn for the movie
$2.60 something for a medium iced capp that turned out to be really gross :(
$8.75 for my lunch at the zoo today
$15 treating myself and my parents to Dairy Queen (and my Blizzard is all melting and not really worth the money :( )

That all totals too much money. And — well, I really shouldn't be eating this junk, either.

I vow to not get Tim Horton's for a week.

(Um, we'll see how that goes.)

On another note, I'm starting to practice my driving again after months and months (probably about a year) of not driving at all. I'm soooooo nervous. Just to torture me, a guy starting crossing a busy street right in front of me. I could have hit him, even though I was in the right! *shudder*

Sorry about that — rant over.

Okay, I'll start with the meme. (Snagged from [info]modernelegance.)

Fill in the blank (and I shall answer):

Heather, what is your favorite _________________ ?

I'm curious to see what you guys come up with, but also, I'm bored... ;)

So, um, yesterday I did some shopping — or at least I tried to. I need to do a bit of clothes shopping before I leave because I need some warmer clothes — especially pants. I could not find a single pair of pants that fit me. Nada. Not in womens' size 0s, not in girls sizes 14 or 16. Oi. Even Old Navy, which I have bought all my most recent pairs of pants, has let me down. I think they're making their sizes bigger and bigger — with the few 0s I found, they were too big and way too long. :( This is ridiculous! I have no nice jeans — mine all have holes in them. :(

Does anyone know of a store that has really good petite sizes? Anyone?

This is why I never shop for pants — I hate trying clothes on, and pants are the kind of item that need to fit well. Shirts are easy — a small or extra small usually fits. Pants are just exasperating.

I also need boots, but I can't find any that I like. And have you guys ever seen the knitted boots/slippers? They look really cute and warm, and I thought they'd be perfect for walking around inside the "castle." I just need to find some...

All this shopping is using up my week's pay...

The one thing that brightened up my shopping trip? "I Feel it All" by Feist starting playing in Old Navy — it was great. :D
