Has anyone seen this new show Being Human? It's about a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost all living together as they try to live as normally as [un]humanly possible. Russel Tovey is a main character — the werewolf, in fact — and lo and behold, who should appear as his ex in the pilot but Claire Foy! Visuals under the cut )

How cute is that? Except she's chasing him and he is trying to get away to protect her. I don't blame Amy for choosing Matthew Macfadyen in Little Dorrit but I still have a soft spot for Russel Tovey. I was hoping she would stay in the show but... oh well.

Also, do you know who makes the best picspams? [info]three_nails. I've rediscovered them. The favourites: Casualty 1907 parts one, two and three, A Room with a View and JJ Feild.

I think you can tell how much I should be studying by the fact that this is my third post in one day. That, and I've started a Sophie and Frank/Cranford picspam.

I was so shy that first night I saw him I wished I could disappear! )

I didn't want to neglect Lizzie and Eugene with all my Bella & John love, so they got their fair due! I don't think it's my fault that there are slightly less caps than those for Bella & John.

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I enjoyed making them. :)

I was forcing myself to be constrained as required by our agreement. But there — Let's go on. )

One of my favourite things about Bella and John is that we get to see them as a married couple. It makes my fangirl heart happy.

And not to be forgotten: a second video summary )

Missed part one?

I can't deny I'm procrastinating from studying... but this is much more fun. It's no surprise that I love Our Mutual Friend and it never gets enough love. I felt like making a picspam a couple of days ago and this felt like an obvious choice! A little stupid considering how long this series is, but I hope you all enjoy it!

We never could have pretended to harbour any true affection. I was hardly likely to like this John Harmon. )

Conclusion? Bella + John = love — they're very sweet with enough angst to compete with the more popular couples!

And because this is my journal this picspam would not be complete without: a video summary )

Go see this if you haven't already!

(More to come — Bella & John, Part II and Lizzie & Eugene)

Part Three is done! Whew, that means I'm finally finished. This has been fun, and I hope you've enjoyed reading/watching as well!

&c. )

And we're done! I just love that miniseries, and personally I prefer it to the 1995 movie, but that's just my taste. ;) Both versions are so different that it really depends on what style you like best, and what you think about the actors... You have to admit, though, it's nice that these actors are closer to the characters' real ages, and it is all very pretty!

You can see part one here and part two here.

I finally did it! Two down, one to go. ;) I'm sorry this took a little while — after the last picspam, I wasn't feeling like making another too soon afterwards. I think I did most of this today, actually. It feels like I went crazy, but I don't think there's any more pictures than last time.

I'm glad that so many of you enjoyed the first part that I did. Hope you enjoy this second part!

&c. )

([info]three_nails, I hope it's okay that I'm using your "preview" idea! It's cause you're so smart and creative. ;D)

You can find part one of this picspam here.

This has been like a mini-project for me. I've gone a little overboard with all the pictures, so I've decided to do one picspam per episode. It's image-heavy enough as it is! I hope you enjoy it. ;)

&c. )

The first episode feels a little slow, but I think it did well in setting everything up. In episode two, the real drama and tension starts!

Oh, and beforeI forget, I just opened the fanlisting for this Sense and Sensibility miniseries. So please check it out and join if you're a fan!

I was watching "Love in a Cold Climate" the other day and I was excited to see the house from "Our Mutual Friend"!

As seen in pictures )

And Steven Mackintosh in "The Other Boleyn Girl". &c. )

I really have so many things I should be doing instead ... :P

I actually made this ages ago, and I never publically posted it because I wanted to add to it. Seeing as that still hasn't happened, I thought I'd share this with you. It's feel-good Bella & John fluff!

Because I had fun with my last "picspam," and I wanted more pictures for Bella & John/OMF icons, I bring you many pictures from episodes three and four — Bella & John at their sweetest. :D

Finally, I've gotten around to putting this up. I too a lot more caps than I realized, and even this is slightly smaller than what I started out with. Ah, well — it's worth all the pictures!

This spam focuses on the second part of the miniseries (IMDB page here), with lots of JJ Feild (who else?), as well as some James D'Arcy (who I hadn't seen in anything until I saw this) and Sophia Myles.

&c. )

Charles Dance and Tom Hollander )

Whew! That's it. :) I hope you enjoyed it all.

P.S. [info]three_nails — I find it funny that both of our picspams involve our respective "husband" with Sophia Myles. ;P

That episode was awesome! And I loved Cary Mulligan. :D It was fun to see her in something modern and not in the 19th century.

I have made a picspam of the ep — I know, I'm getting into the bad habit of "picspamming" everything I watch. :/ (I haven't even gotten to posting some of them.) But anyway, on to the pictures! &c. )

I wish there could have been more of this episode — I liked the characters. :) Figures, with all the two-parters this season, this story was only one episode. Oh, well, it wouldn't work anyway...

And look who's back next episode! Can't wait! &c. ) :D

ETA: Woah — the guy in this ep, the guy from Persuasion, Finlay Robertson, is in a couple of episodes of Robin Hood! Small world. It's a very small part, just "the sheriff's first man," but still — I shall have to see if I can spot him! I would like to see more of him, I think.

On another Robin Hood-Persuasion connection, the guy who plays Charles Musgrove in Persuasion was also in the "Who Shot the Sheriff" episode. :P I recognized him.

I've been watching a few of the newer "Poirot" mysteries, and I cam across one episode ("Death on the Nile") featuring JJ Feild. It started with just one cap I wanted to share because he looked so darn cute, but it quickly escalated to picspam status. ;) I hope you enjoy! &c. )

I swear, I was not at all inspired by [info]three_nails picspam on JJ — but you should definitely check it out here. ;)

First, here's summary of the miniseries, from The BBC:
Based on three Elizabeth Gaskell novels: Cranford, My Lady Ludlow and Mr Harrison's Confessions, this witty and poignant story follows the small absurdities and major tragedies in the lives of the people of Cranford during one extraordinary year.

Cranford in the 1840s is a small Cheshire market town on the cusp of change. The railway is pushing its way relentlessly towards the town from Manchester, bringing fears of migrant workers and the breakdown of law and order.

The arrival of handsome new doctor, Frank Harrison (Simon Woods) from London causes a stir; not only because of his revolutionary medical methods, but also because of the effect he has on many of the ladies' hearts in the town.

Judi Dench plays Miss Matty Jenkyns, whose hopes and rebellious spirit are crushed when she was forced as a young woman to give up Mr Holbrook (Michael Gambon), the man she loved.

And here are some pictures (with lots more here):

"Simon Woods as the handsome Doctor Frank Harrison"

More of Simon Woods )

Greg Wise )

And last but not least, Andrew Buchan! You'll recognize him, trust me. )

It's not hard to see who I like the best, eh? I can't wait to see Simon Woods in another [19th century] period drama. :)

More Northanger Abbey Pictures
(As you can see, I have a thing for posting/collecting pictures right now.)

The official ITV Jane Austen Season website is up, and with that comes more pictures — yay! I'm so excited for Northanger Abbey :D Although I'm disappointed at the lack of J.J. Feild pictures. There's only the one promo. But I am happy to see all the pics of Carey Mulligan! &c. )

ITV has a trailer out for its Jane Austen season — you can see it here. It includes the new Persuasion, Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey. I'm excited about NA the most! And for many reasons. I even have pictures to explain. &c. ) I can't wait. :D I really liked the novel, but the 1986 BBC version was terrible. *Shudder* I'm glad this story is finally getting its turn! (Here is NA 2007's IMDb page.)

I'm also excited to see Mansfield Park starring Billie Piper, though I want to read the book first. It's the only Austen novel I haven't read.

ETA: For more info on the American Jane Austen season on PBS, you can check out the summary at AustenBlog.

These will be airing in March i the UK, I believe. The DVDS are already avilable for preorder on Region 1 discs. And what else? Yes, and adaptation of Sense & Sensibility is also being made, but that is by the BBC and will probably air in September 2007 in the UK, right? The screenplay is being written by Andrew Davies, who has done Pride & Prejudice (1995), WIves & Daughters and Bleak House.

And on another note, here's ) a fun cap of Allan A Dale! I don't know why but I had to cap it. :P I think it's from the season finale.

Oh, and [info]three_nails brought it to my attention that the first season of Robin Hood is set for release in the US (North America?) at the beginning of June! YAY!!!!!! June 5th, actually.

You can read more about it here.

I was browsing through Anne Hathaway Place to find more "Becoming Jane" pics (because for some reason I want to build a complete gallery? I don't know) and I came across these publicity shots from "Ella Enchanted." I almost died, lol. I love Ella & Char. ;D (Um, I would love even more to be Anne Hathaway in those shots, too!)

Seriously, Hugh Dancy does not look like he's over 30 years old.

And celebrity fan sites are usually great places to find movie stills and such, but they're incomplete because they focus on the one celebrity. It's frustrating. (That's apparently my new favourite word.)

Lol — I love classic literature and Ella Enchanted. Very random.

(And I know I'm using the "picspam" tag liberally, but I'm not going to create a new one.)

I was browsing IMDb.com yesterday and came across Steven Mackintosh's page (who plays John Harmon in Our Mutual Friend). Anyway, it turns out he's in "A Muppet Christmas Carol"! Who knew? He plays Scrooge's nephew Fred.

Click for a comparison )

Aw, he's so cute and happy! Like Bingley... on caffeine. He's so happy I don't think I would have recognized him as being the same John Harmon. His long hair definitely changes his appearance, too, and his voice sounds different‚ probably because he's full of Christmas cheer instead of, well, emo pining.

I also realized that both of these stories are Dickens! I wonder what Dickens would have thought of his "Christmas Carol" being performed for kids with Muppets? The tones of each movie couldn't be more different.

(I've got a Bella & John picspam I need to post soon, too.)

Yes, I bring picspam of the best part of episode 1.08 — and if you've seen it, you should know what I'm talking about. :P

Seriously love this show. :D &c. )
